Its Alpine Grip rubber compound has been designed to adapt to the demands of cold and challenging winter environments, while remaining effective when temperatures become milder. This design helps maintain safe and stable driving despite changing winter weather.

Visual inspection of wear

The Nokian Snowproof 1 features a driving safety indicator that makes it easier to monitor wear. Markings on the tread show the remaining tread depth in millimetres and gradually disappear as the tyre wears. To remain suitable for driving in winter conditions, it is recommended to keep a depth between 4 and 5 mm. The snowflake pictogram remains visible down to 4 mm: when it disappears, it is advisable to replace winter tyres to maintain optimal performance.
