The Nankang Econex NA-1 tyre was developed to prioritise efficiency and driving comfort. Its lightweight construction, combined with a narrower tread, helps to reduce rolling resistance and improve efficiency.
The tread radius features optimised geometry, particularly in the central section, in order to limit contact pressure on the shoulders. Noise-reduction bars positioned in the outer lateral grooves help to dampen road noise, for improved acoustic comfort.
Its asymmetric tread pattern distributes roles between the two sides. On the inside, a higher void ratio is designed to aid water evacuation and enhance grip on wet roads. The grooves, with chamfered walls, help to break the water film and optimise traction on wet roads.
On the outside, the emphasis is on handling: wider shoulder blocks improve stability and provide greater precision through corners.
The noise-reduction bars integrated into the outer lateral grooves also help to reduce noise pollution while driving, improving acoustic comfort.
