NEO-T01

NEO-T01
The NEO-T01 production system is designed for the creation of high-density run-flat tyres. Developed by FALKEN, this technology involves machining each tyre around a metal core, the "former", which has the exact size and shape of the inside of the future tyre. A "ribbon" process is used in the manufacturing process, whereby the materials of the sidewall and tread are positioned around the "former" in a very precise manner, without any joints or overlaps. During vulcanisation, the component does not deform. With the NEO-T01 system, which operates in a completely automatic and computerised manner, the consistency of the mass production process of premium tyres is ensured, leading to improved quality and an upgrade in class.

Silent Core

Silent Core
The rolling of tyres in a particular vehicle causes a noise that is significantly louder than that of the engine or speed. The air contained inside the tyre vibrates and leads to resonance in the cavity, which emits a sound. To address this noise, FALKEN engineers have developed an innovative device. They have lined the inside of the tyre with a layer of polyurethane foam that reduces vibrations, and consequently, the noise nuisance. The recorded reduction goes up to ten decibels outside. Highly durable, this device remains active throughout the tyre's lifespan and does not alter its performance in any way.

4D-NANO DESIGN

4D-NANO DESIGN
Tyres must exhibit three fundamental qualities, namely low rolling resistance, absolute safety, and high durability. To enhance these aspects, engineers at Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. have initiated scientific research focused on the molecular structure of tyres. For this purpose, they have utilized particle accelerators and advanced computer simulation, which allowed them to analyse the molecular structure of the rubber components that make up the tyres at the nanometre scale. They specifically studied the excess heat generated by the tyre and how to control it. This heat is indeed a source of rolling resistance, leading to energy loss and additional fuel consumption. These efforts have led to the creation of the advanced 4D-Nano Design technology at the molecular level. It enables significant fuel savings, up to five percent compared to standard tyre models. It also significantly enhances tyre performance on wet roads.
